Marian A Jungwirth

Marian A. Jungwirth, age 87 of Durand, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand, with her family by her side.

Marian was born on May 21, 1924 in Mondovi. She was the daughter of Henry and Emma (Schuh) Pichler. Marian grew up in the Rock Falls area and attended country schools. Marian married Hubert F. Jungwirth on April 8, 1942. After marriage, they lived on the family farm in Durand, near Rock Falls. Marian stayed at home and raised her family until 1956 when she went to work at Jack Bien's Cafe, the Durand Cafe and Security Financial Bank for many years before retiring in the late 1980's. For the last 10 years, Marian has been a resident of the Oakview Care Center in Durand.

Marian enjoyed crocheting, painting, quilting and other numerous crafts. Most of all, Marian enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Marian is survived by her children, Diana (Francis) Brantner of Arkansaw, Rudy (Cathy) of Prescott, Larry (Barbara) of Winona, MN, Debbie Babiracki of Cook, MN, Linda (Scott) Young of Menomonie and Bob (Alicia) of Durand, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one sister, Matilda Uschun of Janesville, sister-in-law, Adella Bertleson of Racine, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert, one grandson, Larry John Jungwirth, son-in-law, Paul Babiracki, three sisters, Rosella Brantner, Elizabeth Odegard and Mildred Berg.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Oakview Care Center and the Chippewa Valley Hospital for all of the love, care and support they have given Marian over the years.
