Marlyn M Brantner

Marlyn M Brantner

Marlyn M. Brantner, age 75 of Durand, formerly of Rock Falls, took the Lord's hand and entered the gates of Heaven to join her beloved husband, Bernard W. Brantner on March 20, 2012.

Marlyn was born on April 19, 1936 to Joseph and Bertilda (Schmitt) Laschinger in rural Arkansaw. She graduated from St. John's in Plum City in 1950 and Arkansaw Union High School in 1954.

Marlyn married Bernard W. Brantner on May 24, 1955 at St. Joseph's Church in Arkansaw. They settled and farmed in the Albany Township for many years until they sold their homestead built a house up the road. When they moved, Marlyn decided to work out of the home, she worked at Huntsinger Farms in Eau Claire it was hard but she never complained. However she knew she could give more of herself and became a C.N.A. and worked at the Clairemont in Eau Claire for over 10 years until her health did not cooperate with her ambition. Marlyn was then able to retire and spend time with her husband enjoying the fine things in life, like playing cards, going to the casino, watching the grandchildren and going for drives and getting and ice cream cones.

Marlyn had a great zest and spunk for life. She always had a great sense of humor and loved to smile and had a special wink in her eye. Marlyn was a great woman with many talents, she raised 17 children who she was very proud of and she never judged anyone.

On February 4, 2007 her husband of over 50 years left her side, but not her heart. In July of 2010 she went to reside in the Oakview Care Center in Durand, where she strived each day until her death on March 20, 2012. While at the care center, she loved playing bingo, going out for cards and being treated like the princess that she deserved to be treated like, with getting her nails and hair done. So many there treated her with such great care it will never be forgotten, the staff was her extended family.

Marlyn is survived by 16 children, Patrick of Rice Lake, Duane (Cindy) of Mondovi, Bruce (Laura) of Durand, Rita (David) Shaw of Stockholm, Linda (Roger) Brott of Eau Claire, Donald of Durand, Lorna (Patrick) Anderson of Stockholm, Kenneth (Darlene) of Mondovi, Galen of Durand, Shirley (Joel) Jacobson of Mondovi, Gary (Dena) of Wheeler, Daniel (Lois Dohms) of Rock Falls, Debra (John Rohland) Anderson of Whitehall, Calvin (Karen) of Rock Falls, Joan (Steve) Huppert of Durand, Diane (Dennis) Gallion of Bloomer, many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
