Margaret H "Peg" Glaus

Margaret H. "Peg" Glaus, age 89 of Eau Galle, died Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood with her family by her side.

Peg was born on March 9, 1923 at home in Arkansaw. She was the daughter of William and Bessie (LaPean) Keeler. Peg grew up in the Arkansaw area and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1941. After school, Peg worked at the egg station in Durand and as a nanny. Peg married Donald Glaus on October 27, 1943 in St. Joseph's in Arkansaw. After marriage, they farmed on the Chase Hill area of Eau Galle and raised their family. After leaving the farm, they moved into the Town of Eau Galle, where Peg became a CNA at the Myrtle Werth Hospital in Menomonie for 15 years. In June of 2011, Peg moved to the Welcome Home Assisted Living in Elmwood until August of this year.

Peg loved to fish; she was an avid seamstress, making her daughter's dresses for all their occasions. She was an avid Brewer fan, she enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, wood working at Don and Peg’s woodworking shop, canning foods, snowmobiling, playing cards and hunting deer, getting her last deer at age 70. Most of all, Peg loved to spend time with family and friends.

Peg is survived by her children, David (Bev) of Elmwood, Myrna (Lynn) McRoberts of Eau Galle, Gail (Bernie) Feuker of Chippewa Falls and Donna (Jim) Weber of Eau Claire, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, three sisters; Isabel Berger of Eau Claire, Gwelda Glaus of Durand and Fern (Gene) Ingalls of Minnesota, four brothers; William (Jane) Keeler of Arkansaw, Bernard (Doris Fuller) Keeler of Red Wing, MN, Warren (Lorraine) Patnode of Durand and Giles (Marge) Patnode of Minnesota, a special nephew, Tom Klein of Arkansaw, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald (2010), one grandson, Michael Schuch, three sisters, Marie Ingalls, Ruth Klein and Mildred Berger and one brother, Phillip Keeler.
