Arlene D Geraets
Arlene D. Geraets, age 91 of Elmwood, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Menomonie.
Arlene was born February 18, 1921 in the Township of Gilman, Pierce County. She was the daughter of Hans and Thora (Formoe) Moen and grew up in the Gilman Township on the family farm. Arlene married Joseph Geraets on October 26, 1946. After marriage they farmed in the Rock Elm Township, rural Elmwood for many years. In 1986 Arlene and Joe retired from farming and moved to Elmwood. In July of 2008, they were the first residents to move into the Welcome Home Assisted Living Center in Elmwood.
Arlene is survived by three sons, Steve (Virginia), Douglas (Jayne) and Mark all of Elmwood; a daughter Yvonne (Dick) Gudim of Bloomington, MN; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Nelson of Woodville; June (Dennis) Fritz of Spring Valley; many nieces, nephew and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph in 2010; two brothers, Herbert and Cyrus Moen; two sisters, Phyllis Lecheler and Mary Ellen Busse.
