Juliana C "Julie" Selz
Juliana C. "Julie" Selz, age 89 of Eau Galle, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at her home in Eau Galle, with her family by her side.
Julie was born on January 15, 1923 at home in the Town of Lima, rural Durand. She was the daughter of John and Nellie (Schlosser) Kohlman. Julie grew up in the Lima area, attended and graduated from Sacred Heart High School-Lima in 1942. After school, Julie worked at US Ordinance & Veteran's Administration as secretary in Eau Claire until 1946. Julie married Ray Selz on July 9, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lima. After marriage, they moved to Batavia, IL and then returned to rural Mondovi to farm. In 1980, they retired from farming and moved to Eau Galle, where Julie remained the rest of her life.
Julie enjoyed gardening, playing cards and singing in the Lima Polka Choir.
Julie is survived by her husband of 66 years; Ray, two sons; Jim of Menomonie, John (Katie) of Augusta, one daughter; Renee (Ron) Sabelko of Durand, six grandchildren; Brad and Sarah Selz, Jenny, Becky, Kayla and Allison Sabelko, three sisters-in-law; Beatrice Kohlman of Durand, Lucille Kohlman of Oregon and Naureen Selz of Eau Claire, one brother-in-law; LeRoy Selz of LaCrosse. She is preceded in death by her parents, six sisters; Martha Prissel, Ann Radle, Mary Kohlman, Hilda Anibas, Clara Schuch and Margaret Kohlman, five brothers; John Jr., Frank, Walter, Edward and Charles Kohlman.
