Allen K Jain
Allen K. Jain, 90, of Bloomington, IN formerly of Colfax, WI passed away at Bloomington Hospice House on Sunday, January 6, 2013.
Allen was born on March 28, 1922 in South Bend, IN into the home of Arthur L. and Helen May (Nichols) Jain. He served during WWII in the Merchant Marines under the direction of the US Coast Guard. He married Gladys Hendrickson on April 30, 1942. Allen spent some of his childhood in Knox, IN and moved to Valparaiso, IN. He worked at Standard Oil in Whiting, IN for 19 ½ years and afterwards was a Fuller Brush salesman and then became a salesman with Jewel Tea. Allen purchased several homes and renovated them with his family in Valparaiso. In 1968 he bought a farm and moved his family to Elk Mound, WI. He then farmed and worked at Presto. Allen had an obsession of collecting cars and enjoyed working on them, passing this on to his son, Rod. He was a fan of western shows.
Allen is survived by his children, Melodye Ann Hall of Michigan City, IN, Norma Kay Jain of Ellettsville, IN, and Felice Gay Barber of Bloomington, IN, and Bryan Timothy Jain of Colfax, WI; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; wife, Gladys in 2011; son, Rodney Jain in 1980; brother, Gordon Jain; sister, Edith Barnes and nephew, David Jain.
