Evelyn B. Frank age 88 of Menomonie, died Thursday January 24, 2013 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Menomonie.

Evelyn was born January 1, 1925 in the Township of Weston, Dunn County. She was the daughter of Robert and Veronica (Decker) Denning. Evelyn attended Irvington, Beaver Creek and St. Joseph elementary schools. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1942. Evelyn worked at Lee’s Drug Store at the soda fountain for one year. In 1943 she moved with her family to Bremerton, WA. While there she was employed at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in the administration department. In 1948 the family moved back to Menomonie where Evelyn worked at the Campus Café until 1950. Evelyn married Eugene A. Frank August 12, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie. She then worked at the Farmers Store until 1954. From 1956 to 1958, Evelyn hauled milk with her husband Eugene. From 1960 to 1965, the family operated a farm in the Township of Menomonie. Evelyn then worked at Sandy Lee Manufacturing from 1966 thru 1974. She then began working with her sister Corinne Harrison as a houseparent in a group home for mentally challenged individuals. In 1978, she purchased the group home and in 1982 opened a second group home. Evelyn also spent many years involved as a 4-H leader and Special Olympics Leader.

The family would like to thank the staff of Country Terrace Assisted Living for their wonderful care given to Evelyn these past two years.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, Eugene; six children, Linda Holden, Harold (Linda) Frank; Carol Ann Solberg (Joe Schmidt); Neil (LouAnn Marshman) Frank; David Frank & Julie Frank; eight grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a very special nephew, Robert (Kaye) Harrison.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother, Corinne Harrison and Delores and Thomas both in infancy; two brothers-in-law, James and Gerald Frank; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Frank and Marion Strand.
