Dorothy M Carswell
Dorothy M. Carswell, age 92 of Menomonie, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire.
Dorothy was born on April 4, 1921 in Athens, WI into the loving family of Frank and Francis Writz. Dorothy married John Carswell on June 28, 1943, in Milwaukee. After John’s return from the Army after WWII, they owned and operated the “Dairy Mart” in Menomonie for many years. Dorothy served thousands of cones, sundaes, and banana splits to her loyal customers.
Dorothy loved the color pink, going to bingo with Karen Wolf, wintering in Florida, cheerleading for the Milwaukee Brewers and Packers, and tending her flowers.
Dorothy was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be truly missed by her son, Jerry (Paula) of Superior; a daughter, Susan (Gale) Kreibich of LaCrosse; three grandchildren, Jon (Heidi) Carswell, Jeff Carswell, and Meran Kreibich; four great-grandchildren, Grayson, Piper, Alex, and Jeffrey.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband John in 2003.
