William L "Bill" Webb

William L. "Bill" Webb, age 81 of Eau Galle, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire with his family by his side.

Bill was born on June 21, 1931 at home Eau Galle. He was the son of George and Josephine (Biesterveld) Webb. Bill grew up in the Eau Galle area attended St. Henry's School and graduated from Durand High School. After School, Bill was drafted into the U.S. Navy and served on an aircraft carrier. He was Honorably Discharged in 1957. Bill married Betty Brantner, they were married 21 years and had five children together. Betty passed away in 1977. Bill worked for 10 years at the Stockyards in St. Paul, MN and he then went to work at the Durand CO-OP for 20 years. He married Virginia Kannel-Follansbee on February 6, 1982 in Plum City. Bill then went to work for Wayne Pallets in Downsville where he worked for 10 years and he retired in 1998.

Bill enjoyed being a member of the St. Henry's Polka Choir for over 30 years, traveling all over the area and singing for people. He also liked to dance, work in the garden and have card parties. Most of all, Bill loved to spend time with family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of 31 years, Virginia, 10 children; William Jr. (Jeannine) of Holcomb, Richard of Eau Galle, Ronald (Patti) of Dover, DE, John (Deb) of Eau Claire, Juliane Webb of Eau Galle, Clinton Follansbee of Ellsworth, Edward Follansbee of Stockholm, Greg (Melissa) Follansbee of Eau Claire, Denise (Mark) Hutter of Amery and Diane (Brent) Matter of Menomonie, 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one brother, David (Julie) of Eau Claire, four sisters; Joan (John) Seipel of Eau Galle, Marilyn (Al) LaBrec of DePere, Judy (Bud) Bland Wyoming, MN and Nancy (Paul) Calloway of DePere, two sisters-in-law; Clare Ann Webb of Decorah, IA and Mary Webb of Eau Galle, brother-in-law; James Hayden of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Betty Brantner, three brothers; Gerald, Bernard and Lawrence, three sisters; Cecelia Fedie, Marcella Hurst, and Sally Hayden.
