Lorraine "Rainie" H Wedam
Lorraine H. “Rainie” Wedam age 90 of Menomonie, died Sunday June 30, 2013 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.
Rainie was born December 25, 1922 in Knapp, the daughter of William and Ruth (Cummings) Monahan. She married the love of her life Alvin Wedam on September 17, 1941, dancing away 58 years. Rainie was a charter member of the Palmer Homemakers Club and a life long member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie. She was also a talented leather craft leader for the Blodgett 4H Club.
Rainie is survived by her children: Dianne (David) Fausch of Clayton, OH; Francis (Vicki) Wedam of Mindoro; Royce (Juanita) Wedam of Menomonie; Holly Wedam of Alpharetta, GA; Collin (Connie) Wedam of Menomonie; grandchildren, Scott (Melanie) Fausch of Phillipsburg, OH; MiKayla & Dustin Wedam both of Menomonie; step grandchildren, Nicole Ponto,Jennifer King, Cheryl, Neil & Danielle Peterson all of Menomonie; great grandchildren, Ryan (Bethany) Fausch, Riley & Aiden Wedam; step-sister, Lottie Einum of Menomonie and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son, Kelly Wedam in 1990; husband Alvin in 1999; great granddaughter, Katelyn Fausch in 1989; her parents, step father, all of her brothers and sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be given to St. Joseph’s Church or a charity of their choice.
The family extends their thanks to the Dunn County Health Care staff for the kind & compassionate care they showed our mother.
Memorial prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 19, 2013 at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie with Christine Warloski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the Rhiel Funeral Home.
