Raymond E Maves
Raymond E. Maves age 103 of Menomonie, formerly Knapp, died Monday July 8, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Menomonie.
Ray was born July 2, 1910, he was the son of William and Amanda (Schreder) Maves, and he grew up in the Elk Mound area. As a young man, Ray began working for area farmers around the Tainter and Elk Mound areas. Ray later moved to Knapp where helped with odd jobs, gardening and mowing. He also worked part time as a custodian for the Menomonie School District. For the past 4 1/2 years Ray has been a resident of the Dunn County Health Care Center.
Ray enjoyed bowling, playing cards, going to the casino, berry picking, playing darts, going to the Dunn Co. Fair and spending time with family and friends.
Ray is survived by a sister, Mildred Close of Knapp; two brothers, Emil (Nelda) Maves of Menomonie; Ralph Maves of Mesa, AZ; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Vera Pariseau, Lucille Lausted and Evelyn Beckwith, four brothers, Marvin, Wilmer, Wesley and Harry Maves.
