Josephine A "Jo" Drosen

Josephine A. "Jo" Drosen, age 95 of Menomonie, died Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Menomonie with her family by her side.

The former Josephine Ragan was born on October 28, 1917 in South Milwaukee to Valentine and Magdalen (Pierzchala) Ragan. Jo married Henry Grabowski (Deceased) on August 4, 1945 in Los Angeles, CA. On October 10, 1964, Jo married Richard Drosen (Deceased) in South Milwaukee. Jo had a great love for sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and cooking. Her cooking skills came from operating a bar and restaurant with her mom in South Milwaukee for many years. After selling her bar and restaurant, she worked at the Milwaukee County Courthouse until retirement.

Upon retirement, Jo moved to the Chippewa Valley area to be closer to her sons. In her free time, Jo enjoyed golfing and bowling. For the past two years, Jo has resided at Potter's Country Home in Menomonie.

Jo is survived by her three sons; Al (Peggy Richartz) Grabowski of Menomonie, Tom (Sheila) Grabowski of Chetek and Dave (Jeanine) Grabowski of Eau Claire, two step-daughters; Andrea Drosen of Milwaukee and Gail (Greg) Larson of South Milwaukee, seven grandchildren; Jon Grabowski of Chippewa Falls, Anne (Fiancé Pat Schwertel) Grabowski of Trempealeau, Jayne Grabowski of Eau Claire, Leigh Grabowski of Coon Rapids, MN, Jenalee Jo Grabowski of Chetek, Brian Larson of Waukesha and Chase Gustum of Chetek, a special niece; Sandy "Tony" Kernej of Bentonville, AR, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands and five siblings.
