Marjorie J Miklian
Marjorie J. Miklian, age 97 of Ellsworth, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the River Falls Area Hospital in River Falls.
Marjorie was born on May 31, 1916 in Elmwood. She was the daughter of Jake and Lenora (Hoyt) Ginsbach. Marjorie grew up in the Elmwood area and graduated from Elmwood High School. After high school, she attended Dunn County Normal at Menomonie and earned a teaching degree. Upon graduating, Marjorie taught at several country schools in the area. Marjorie married William Miklian on June 17, 1940 in Elmwood and they purchased their farm the same year. After marriage, Marjorie continued to teach, farm and raise her family. In 1978, they sold the farm and built a home in Ellsworth. Marjorie lived in Ellsworth until moving to the Our House Assisted Living in River Falls in January 2013.
Marjorie and William loved to travel in their retirement years. They enjoyed taking trips in the RV out west to Yellowstone and they especially enjoyed spending winters in Texas. Marjorie also liked dancing, playing cards, baking, gardening and canning. Marjorie loved to tend to her flower gardens and was especially proud when she and William were awarded “Most Beautiful Yard in Ellsworth.”
Marjorie is survived by her children; Elaine (Merton) Rau of Eureka, SD, Wayne (Linda) of River Falls and Mary (Paul) Wenum of Bloomington, MN, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister; Esther Stubbs of Green Bay, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one brother, Richard Ginsbach; and one sister, Ethel Gerrish.
