Norman R. Woods, age 53 of Fridley, MN passed away suddenly Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Cumberland due to cardiac arrest.

Norman was born on November 17, 1959 in Menomonie. He was the son of Charles and Phoebe (Nelson) Woods. Both of Norman's parents had passed away by the age of 10 so Norman grew up with the Francis and Arla Mae Knutson family in Northern Wisconsin and he graduated from Amery High School. Norman held various sales positions throughout his working career including Footlocker, Airgas and most recently American Pump Company. He married Rebecca "Becky" Knutson on August 25, 1984 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie. After marriage, they resided in Fridley, MN where they continued to work and raise their family.

Norman enjoyed coaching his kids’ softball and basketball teams and always supported them in all of their events. He also loved to spend time with his family outdoors, boating, fishing, 4-wheeling and hunting. Norman was a great story teller and was the life of the parties making people laugh and smile.

Norman is survived by his wife; Becky, children; Nathaniel and Miranda, both at home, five brothers; Gary (Ila) Knutson of Prairie Farm, Dale (Dawn) of Glen Allen, VA and Niles (Marcia) Knutson of Sparta, Jack (Dawn) Rolstad of Solon Springs and Larry (Cathy) Froseth of Menomonie, one sister; Charlene (Tim) Clark of Eau Claire, step-brother; Greg (Sharon) Lind of Durham, NC, two step-sisters; Jane (Ronald) Goebel of Shakopee, MN and Carol (Steve) Meyer of Plymouth, MN, Step-mother; Gladys Knutson of Colfax, father and mother-in-law; Clifford and Theresa Knutson of Menomonie, one brother-in-law; Steven (JoAnn) Knutson of Menomonie, three sisters-in-law; Cheryl Stoeklen of Menomonie, Julie (Darryl) Doughty of Menomonie and Stephanie (Shawn) Heier of Summerset, SD, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his foster parents, three sisters; Sandy Kutschenreuter, Janet Windsor and Wanda Kamrath, one brother; Leroy Rolstad, and one sister-in-law; Susan Knutson.
