Ruth E Weber

Ruth E. Weber, age 93 of Durand, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand.

Ruth was born on October 6, 1919 in the Town of Dunn, rural Dunn County. She was the daughter of Roy and Bertha (Hagen) Bow. She grew up in the Town of Waubeek and graduated from Durand High School. Ruth married Harold J. Weber September 26, 1938. After marriage, Ruth helped Harold farm and raise her family on the family farm in Eau Galle. Ruth retired from farming in 1965. She than went to work as a Nurse’s Aide at the hospital in Durand and then for Bauer Built until she retired. She moved to Durand in 1991. For the last three years, Ruth has been a resident of the Oakview Care Center in Durand.

Ruth enjoyed spending time outside especially farming and gardening. She liked to watch and listen to the birds, play cards, and watch her family’s sporting events. Ruth loved to play music, especially in high school where her musical talents took her to Madison for competitions. Most of all, Ruth loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her children, Karen (Ron) Spaeth of Downsville, Jack (Jane) of Eau Galle, Norma (Ron) of Onalaska, Larry (Marcia) of Durand and Tim (Diane) of Menomonie; 16 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Sally Harmon and Steven Spaeth; one brother, Everett Bow; and one sister, Ferne Riach.
