Marshall L Gallman

Marshall L. Gallman age 86 of Menomonie, passed away on Sunday February 9, 2014 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie surrounded by his family.

Marshall was born June 12, 1927 in Menomonie. He was the son of Walter and Edna (Green) Gallman. Marshall grew up in the Menomonie area and graduated from Menomonie High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 where he served in Germany and was Honorably Discharged in 1947. Marshall returned home to Menomonie where he met and married Helen Husby on May 31, 1949 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Menomonie. Marshall worked as a mechanic for Flick Motors for many years. He then became a member of the Menomonie Fire Department for several years before joining the Dunn County Highway Department, where Marshall worked as a mechanic until he retired.

Marshall enjoyed building and flying his airplanes. He also enjoyed working on cars, going camping and listening to country music. Most of all, Marshall loved to spend time with family and friends.

Marshall is survived by his wife Helen of 64 years; five children, Ann (Jim) Verbeten of Appleton; Doug (Nancy) of Eden Prairie, MN; Steve (Marilyn) of Trego; Brenda (Rene`) LaForte of Elk Mound; Rick (Teresa) of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Jents of Menomonie; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Charles Jents.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Neighbors of Dunn County and Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Menomonie for the wonderful care given to Marshall.
