Mary L. Bauer, age 87 of Colorado Springs, CO, died Monday June 2, 2008 in Colorado Springs.

She was born February 9, 1921 in Wisconsin daughter of late William and Clara La Pean.

Mary was married to Philip F. Bauer, he preceded her in death October 18, 1991.

She is survived by two children, Phil (and Koryta) Bauer, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Marietta (and Dale) Riggs, Sidney, Ohio; 3 grand-children, Katie (and Frank) Nicholson, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Babette (and Eric) Cade, Nacogdoches, Texas; Colleen (and Elden) Eidemiller Troy, Ohio; 5 great grandchildren, Adam and Neleh Perry, Meghan Nicholson Albuquerque, New Mexico; Courtney and Kirstin Malone Piqua, Ohio; one sister Ethel (and Lyle) Richarson Maquoketa, Iowa; a brother William La Pean Ashland, Wisconsin, a sister-in-law Faye La Pean Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Her extended family was the Hamner, Farrell, Stewart, Evans, Villa and Hamner III families. She was loved by all of them.

She was preceded in death by a grand-daughter Mary Jean Riggs, two brothers Alfred La Pean Arkansaw, Wisconsin; Tom La Pean Menomonie, Wisconsin and one sister Gladys Stuart Arkansaw, Wisconsin. She was a member of the Divine Redeemer Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral Serivces will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima in Durand. Fr. Jeffrey Burrill will officate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8PM Monday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
